LEMON | HONEY | CHAMOMILE | HAIR RINSE

This hair rinse is for all the blondes out there looking to lighten and brighten their hair in a more natural way. A hairdresser friend of mine told me about this home remedy to lighten and brighten blonde hair made from only three simple ingredients; lemon, honey and chamomile.

The base of the rinse is chamomile tea mixed with lemon juice and lastly honey. Lemon and chamomile both have bleaching effects and can therefore lighten your hair.  Honey is a natural humectant, which attracts moisture. It’s also full of antioxidants and nutrients to feed hair follicles that house the live part of hair, encouraging hair growth.

With the bleaching effects of the lemon and camomile combined with the nourishing effect of honey, I decided to try this remedy and here’s the easy steps I followed:

Ingredients

  • 200ml boiling water
  • 2tbls honey
  • juice of two lemons

Step 1: Add the tea bags to the boiling water

Add the tea bag

Step 2: Let the tea bags soak for a few minutes

Let it soak

Step 3: Squeeze in the lemons

Squeeze the lemon

Step 4: Add the honey

Add some honey

Step 4: Place the mixture in the fridge for a while

In the fridge

Your rinse is ready to use

Final mixture

Put the mixture on your hair and keep it on for about an hour before rinsing it off in the shower.

I would suggest putting on shampoo before wetting your hair properly. This will help to get out all the honey if there’s any stickiness. The rinse isn’t supposed to be sticky, but rather safe than sorry.
