The 5-Minute-Face

The 5-Minute-Face

No, this isn’t the newest makeup challenge. Tried and tested by me, this is your go-to guide to a beautiful face with minimal effort on those days you simply don’t have the time or energy. Keep in mind these time limits may vary from person to person based on capability or product use.

Apply your foundation/BB Cream (Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Tinted Moisturiser). I always use my fingers as I have more control & I can really get to those hard to reach areas like right underneath the lash line. The massaging effect also ensures proper product distribution and blending.

Volumizing brow gels are the best when time is limited (Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fibre Gel). Comb the gel through the brows – the tiny fibres will give a fuller brow elusion whilst the gel fixes the hairs in place giving them a bit of colour as well. Darkened brows will shape your face & make your eyes pop.

Here I like to take my time to ensure I layer my mascara properly (Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara), individualizing my lashes as much as possible. Give them a second coat if you want to intensify the colour & to emphasize your eyes even more.

Blusher will bring healthy colour to your face. When I don’t have too much time I love using blush with shimmery pigments (Stila Cosmetics Pink Glow Blush Duo). The shimmer will illuminate the skin and almost act like a highlighter: a sort of 2-in-1. If you have oily skin, stick to matte blushes. Dust the apples of the cheeks.

A simple swipe of lip balm will be just as efficient as your favourite night-out lipstick (M.A.C Up The Amp). Creams, glosses, satins or mattes, you can really play around and switch up your look depending on your mood or the occasion.

Here are a few extras to amp up the look if time allows:

  • Swipe some brown eyeliner on (the outer corners) your waterline to make your eyes stand out more.
  • Dab some cream highlighter on the highpoints of the face: cheekbones, brow bone, point of the nose, cupid’s bow etc. Extra glow never hurt anyone.
  • Spritz some setting spray to ensure your look lasts the whole day
